Basic Web Hosting Frequently Asked Questions


  • I receive e-mail okay, but when I try to send e-mail, the attempt fails and I receive a message similar to:



    The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. Server Response: '550 5.7.1 <user@my-domain.com>... Relaying denied. Proper authentication required.'. (Account: '<user@my-domain.com>', SMTP Server: alpine11.alpineweb.net', Error Number: 0x800ccc79).

    This is usually a result of not enabling SMTP Authentication. In order to enable this feature refer to the documentation for your e-mail program. Instructions for configuring the most popular e-mail programs can be found here:
